The Force Is With Duke's Auctioneers In Dorchester

Star Wars fever comes to Dorchester today. 500 lots from a single anonymous collector go under the hammer at Dukes' auctioneers. Auctioneer Matthew Denney says they're taking telephone and internet bids as well as from those attending in person and expect the total price paid could be as high as £ 50,000. He says while some of the items are valued at just a few, some could go for hundreds of pounds. Among the star lots is a tiny 1977 Jawa figure with the original vinyl cape that could fetch £ 500. hundreds of collectable figures remain in their packaging and there are items connected with the original films right up to those from modern cartoons.
